2015 - 2016 Concert Season

The Choral Society's complete 2015-2016 season, is generously supported by a grant from The Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, a joint effort of the PA Council on the Arts and the Scranton Area Foundation, and by a Lackawanna County Arts and Cultural Grant, a program of the Lackawanna County Commissioners and the Lackawanna County Council on the Arts.

General admission to most adult programs is $15.00
General admission to most children's/youth programs is $10.00
For most programs, children age 18 and under are admitted free.

A $3.00 discount is also offered to:

The season opens with a program of music for string orchestra, organ, soloists, and chorus from the great Viennese classicists, including Mozart's Regina Coeli and Ave verum corpus, Haydn's Salve Regina, Schubert's Mass In G, and Beethoven's own "Hallelujah Chorus" from his oratorio, Christ on the Mount of Olives. A festive reception follows, featuring some of Vienna's most famous sweets.

A NEPA holiday tradition!  Welcome the season with a song as our full array of children's, youth, and adult choirs join organist Dr. Timothy Smith for holiday selections, audience singing of traditional carols, organ show pieces, and a festive holiday reception.  We also collect new, unwrapped, non-violent toys and cash donations for the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves' "Toys for Tots" program.

Not heard in NEPA for 30 years, our adult chorus joins fellow musicians from both Scranton and Wilkes-Barre to present Verdi's monumental work for chorus, soloists, and orchestra. Dr. Rick Hoffenberg guides 200+ performers in these must-hear performances.
